Advice Team
Aidan Brown
Director

Aidan leads the business whilst keeping a toe in the world of advice. Having spent a number of years working at national banks & estate agencies, Aidan set up EGM with the aim of providing a client first, forward-thinking advice practice. Having seen clients being given advice without much education, he designed the EGM approach to ensure all clients understand the process and can make informed, confident decisions.
“I’m privileged to be leading the team and wider business forward day by day, I’m a firm believer in leading from the front & still get a buzz from helping clients shape and achieve their goals. Whether that be a first time buyer needing guidance and education, or a seasoned buyer looking for an outside the box solution”.
Away from the desk (a rarity!), Aidan’s time is spent with his wife Liz and young daughter Delilah, building memories and refocusing on the ‘why’. When there’s a spare moment from family and work, you’ll find Aidan on a snooker table in his local club!
Jason Smith

Jason joined the team as our first adviser. He has spent the past 19 years in the financial advice industry. Starting out in Insurance, Jason progressed into mortgage & protection advice and has been advising since 2019.
“I offer advice across all areas but have a special place for first‑time buyers. My goal is to make the mortgage process simple and stress‑free, ensuring every client finds the right mortgage for their needs whilst ensuring they fully understand the process, there are no silly questions!
Jason’s passion is suba diving, having spent a number of years out in sunny Spain, teaching budding divers and brushing up on his language skills! Back in (not so sunny) England, you’ll find Jason on the squash court or out on the golf course (no matter the weather!).
Andrew Wheldon

Andy has over 10 years experience in advising clients. He joined the EGM team with a diverse background ranging from Estate Agency, Broker and Accountancy practice based mortgage advice roles. This gives him the ability to confidently support clients from all walks of life.
“I particularly enjoy working with first time buyers and those purchasing their next property. Breaking down jargon into plain English and making the journey as straightforward as possible”.
Away from the busy life of advising, Andy is a father to twins who although now adults, still keep him on his toes. If you’re local to Andy, you might see him out and about on his bike or in the gym. “I enjoy cycling and spending time in the gym, usually convincing myself it counts as balance!”.

Sophie joined the EGM family on her return from maternity leave. Having worked for a national lender and some smaller practices, she joined the team seeking a new place to thrive and progress, whilst being able to have the flexibility needed with a young family. Sophie brings a number of years experience in the industry, having worked on both the adviser and lender side of the process, she’s well-versed in being able to support clients from start to finish.

Shannon brings over a decade of industry experience to our team, having spent time working for lenders, estate agents and more recently ourselves she is seasoned in supporting clients from application through to completion.
“I love supporting clients each day to achieve their property dreams. I get a sense of achievement from knowing I can help inform, guide and support clients in their mortgage journey”
Outside of the office, Shannon is a proud mother and enjoys treating her little girl to days out, it’s a reminder to slow down and enjoy life!
Fiona McNally

Fiona is our most recent member of the EGM family. She brings a wealth of banking experience, having worked extensively with customer enquiries, mortgage applications, and underwriting. She has now made the move to the other side of the phone, joining us as a Broker Administrator to support both clients and advisers.
‘Being involved in the customer journey from application right through to completion is incredibly rewarding. Providing ongoing support and regular updates helps customers feel informed and confident throughout the process. Working closely with the advisers in a small, collaborative team means we can truly support customers in achieving their goals.’
Fiona recently returned home after 18 months living in Australia and backpacking across South East Asia. A keen traveller at heart, she loves spending time with her family and partner, getting outdoors for a good hike, and finishing it off by discovering a new brunch spot.
